Good Morning friend,
I need your support. Two weeks ago our Stop the Violence Rally was cancelled as a result of poor weather. This Saturday, September 29th,(tomorrow) beginning at 12pm in front of Hempstead Village Hall (99 Nichols Court), the rally will take place. (See the attached flyers in English and Spanish.) In case of inclement weather, the rally will be held in the Kennedy Park gymnasium at 335 Greenwich Street. A bus will be available to transport attendees from Nichols Court to the park, in the event of rain.
I urge you to inform your friends and family members about this rally, and to turn out and support us if you can. Gun and other violence is an ongoing issue in our community that will only be eradicated through the support of the entire village. We cannot denounce acts of violence committed because of racism or discrimination, without addressing and denouncing the ongoing violence committed by many young men in the community against each other.
I ask that you share this with all of your contacts: friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, church members. A large united body will send a strong message that we will not tolerate these continued acts of violence. Our youth are our most valuable commodity. They are integral to Hempstead’s growth and progress.
Working together we can help our youth come up with more productive measures for resolving conflict. Working together we can stop the violence.
Thank you for your time and attention to this e-mail. I look forward to seeing you at the rally.
